About: The People's Projects
Empowering nonprofits in Los Angeles with transportation is a great start, but we also understand that their needs go beyond just getting around. The People's Projects is a platform to further the work of our nonprofit partners by maximizing community support. As community members step up and fulfill the needs outlined by the participating nonprofits, Ford will provide funding to deepen their impact.
How the People's Projects work:
Each organization has submitted a project on which they are working. The project is broken down into specific tasks, both large and small. Along the path to completion, the People's Fleet community can participate by helping fulfill each task of the project. Once a majority of the tasks have been accomplished, Ford will award the organization a $5,000 Empowerment Grant. During the Project Car period, once a majority of the tasks have been accomplished, Ford will award the organization with a $1,000 Empowerment grant.
How can you participate?
Each organization has created a list of tasks that are unique to their organization and must be accomplished in order to complete their project. These tasks range from helping share the story of the organization to educating oneself about their mission. Most importantly, you can contribute your talents towards the completion of these tasks, which is vital to bringing each project to life.
